In Belarus, a wedding was held between teenagers – a 15-year-old bride and a 16-year-old groom.
The words "peace and love" were heard by a couple from the Gomel region. The guy and girl became the youngest couples getting married in this region of the country.
Belta reports on the event with reference to the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.
It was also reported that since the beginning of 2024, more than 5,500 new families have been registered in the region.
Most often, local residents aged 31 to 35 tied the knot.
In second place for this indicator is the age category from 36 to 40 years old, in third place is the age category from 41 to 45 years old.
As already noted, the youngest couples to get married were a 15-year-old bride and a 16-year-old groom.
But the oldest couple to legalize their relationship through marriage was an 88-year-old bride and a 91-year-old groom.
They, as reported by the Main Department of Justice, celebrated the wedding in the company of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There is another interesting record in the Gomel region. It concerns the shortest duration of marriage – only 1 month and 24 days.
However, the regional executive committee representatives added, statistics show a positive trend.
In particular, after five years of married life, couples are increasingly less likely to terminate their family relationships.
