The highest executive body of Lithuania approved the denunciation of cooperation agreements with the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in the customs sphere.
The Chairman of the State Customs Committee of our country responded to this decision of Vilnius.
According to Vladimir Orlovsky, the above-described move by Lithuania will not lead to serious changes.
The Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus shared this conclusion on the air of the First Information TV channel.
Consequences of Lithuania's denunciation of cooperation agreements with Belarus
Orlovsky emphasized that it is quite difficult for Lithuania to worsen the situation.
According to a representative of the State Customs Committee, serious restrictions are already in effect.
Thus, the checkpoints are closed, the Lithuanian side refuses to cooperate.
Orlovsky noted: the agreement on cooperation in the customs sphere is a normal working agreement between neighboring countries.
However, this agreement between Belarus and Lithuania essentially does not work. And this situation has been observed since sanctions were introduced against our country and since the checkpoints were closed.
And at the moment, as the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus noted, Vilnius is only engaged in the legal registration of what actually already exists.
Therefore, a serious deterioration in the situation is not expected, Orlovsky added.
