Putin: About 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers surrounded in Kursk region

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the situation in the Kursk region.

According to the Russian leader, the Russian Armed Forces are actively working in this direction.

Putin announced that a considerable number of Ukrainian troops were blocked in Kursk region.

The head of the Russian state emphasized that some of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units that invaded the region are surrounded.

This is approximately two thousand people, the official Internet portal of the Russian president quotes Putin as saying.

According to the politician, the enemy is trying to unblock the encircled part of the units from the outside and break through from the inside, but to no avail.

Putin emphasized that the Russian Armed Forces have begun to eliminate this group.

The Russian leader shared all this information during a press conference that took place in Tatarstan after the completion of the sixteenth BRICS summit.

The situation in the Kursk region

The Ukrainian army launched an offensive on the region in August of this year.

However, after some time, the Russian Armed Forces stopped the enemy’s advance.

The Russian side expressed confidence that the outcome of the operation in Kursk would be positive (defeat of the enemy, reaching the state border).
