The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus summed up the results of the main stage of the operational and preventive special complex event "Arsenal", which was held from October 7 to 11.
Over the course of a week, Belarusians voluntarily surrendered about 370 weapons, the department’s press service reported on Telegram.
How many weapons were seized and surrendered within the framework of the SCM "Arsenal"
The SCM was conducted with the aim of taking additional measures to combat the illegal trafficking of weapons, explosives and ammunition.
As part of the SCM, more than 7,000 rounds of ammunition and almost 90 units of unregistered firearms were seized, and approximately 700 explosive devices and 25 kilograms of explosives were defused.
265 units of registered weapons were confiscated for various violations.
In addition, Belarusians voluntarily surrendered about 170 units of registered weapons, about 200 units of unregistered weapons and more than 21,000 rounds of ammunition.
During preventive measures against illegal diggers, 88 administrative violations were identified and 39 criminal cases were initiated.
Many cases of seizures are being investigated and examinations have been ordered.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that voluntary surrender of illegally stored ammunition and weapons to the police exempts from administrative and criminal liability.
