In Belarus, a court fined a well-known retail chain for inflating prices on bread

The court imposed a fine on a well-known Belarusian retail chain.

The following reason is given: the inflated price of bread.

This was reported by the Belarusian Telegraph Agency " BELTA " with reference to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus.

What the court found

It turned out that for several months the closed joint-stock company "Unifood" sold "Lavash" bread at an inflated price.

This situation lasted from January 26 to July 26, 2024.

It turned out that the maximum trade markup limits had been exceeded.

As a result, the actual revenue turned out to be 7,631 Belarusian rubles 10 kopecks higher than the revenue that should have been without inflating prices.

Court decision regarding ZAO Unifood

The court made the following decision: the above-mentioned closed joint-stock company was fined 15,262 Belarusian rubles 20 kopecks.

In addition, the body administering justice made a decision to bring to administrative responsibility the official who was responsible for the correct formation of prices.

According to the court decision, this person must pay a fine of 200 Belarusian rubles.
