The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a law providing for changes to laws on employment issues.
The document is intended to create additional conditions for employment of the population.
The presidential press service reported this.
What is in the law on employment issues?
In order to eliminate dependency, the law strengthens the requirements for the appointment and receipt of unemployment benefits.
It will be assigned upon registration with the employment service within a month after dismissal. Also, to assign the benefit, you must have been in an employment relationship for at least 5 years before registration, with contributions paid to the Social Security Fund.
The period for paying benefits is reduced from six to three months, and the maximum period for being registered is reduced from 18 months to one year.
Electronic registration of the unemployed is being introduced. It will also be possible to register both at the place of residence and at the place of stay.
The list of categories of unemployed persons who are provided with additional employment guarantees has been expanded.
The list includes people of pre-retirement age (five years before retirement), as well as people who have ceased to be in the LTP, and those who suffer from alcoholism/drug addiction and have undergone medical rehabilitation.
The law also provides for expanded opportunities for citizens to receive assistance from the employment service in finding work, and from employers in selecting personnel.
Employers will have the right to submit information to the All-Republican Bank of Vacancies on the current and prospective need for workers for existing and new jobs.
In addition, the law provides for the introduction of the institution of quotas for jobs for disabled people. Quotas will be established for employers of all forms of ownership (except for public associations of disabled people, budgetary and non-profit organizations) in the manner and amounts determined by the Council of Ministers.
