Both a married couple and a single person can adopt a child in Belarus.
This was reported by the director of the National Adoption Center of the Ministry of Education, Tatyana Belevich.

Who can adopt a child
As Belevich explained, either a married couple or a single person can become an adoptive parent.
There are cases when men want to become adoptive parents, but this is a very rare practice, ” she noted.
To become an adoptive parent, you need to go through a long journey: collect documents, undergo psychological diagnostics (two to three months), and obtain a conclusion for the court.
According to Belevich, some people realize during the process that they are not ready to adopt.
“This is a kind of sieve, ” the director of the center stated.
