Some citizens of Belarus have the right to an additional professional pension.

It is paid regardless of receipt of any other pension or income.

This was reported by the Minsk-Novosti agency with reference to the Social Security Fund.

Who is eligible for an additional professional pension?

Since 2009, professional pension insurance (PPI) has been in effect in Belarus. PPI contributions are paid by employers for employees engaged in special working conditions.

Contributions and income from their placement in an authorized bank are accumulated in the form of pension savings on the professional part of the insured person’s personal account.

From these funds, the worker is paid a professional pension, as well as a labor pension based on age for work under special working conditions or a labor pension for length of service.

The circle of workers subject to PPS (15 categories) is defined by Article 5 of the Law on Professional Pension Insurance.

To receive an early pension, you must meet the requirements for retirement age and length of service, which are specific to each “harmful” profession.

If an employee does not exercise the right to receive a pension early (for example, there is not enough work experience), the accumulated funds will be paid out as an additional professional pension.

The period of its payment depends on the amount of savings in the professional part of the account on the day the pension is assigned and the minimum subsistence budget in effect on that date.

An additional pension is paid regardless of receipt of any other pension or income, that is, a person can receive an old-age pension, continue to work and simultaneously receive an additional pension.
