Almost 86,000 large families in Belarus have decided to use family capital early.
More than 80% of them used family capital to improve their housing conditions.
This was reported by BELTA with reference to the head of the Department of Population, Gender and Family Policy of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Belash.
How Belarusians manage family capital
Since 2020, large families have received the right to early use of family capital to improve housing conditions, education and medical services.
As Belash reported, as of October 1, more than 140,000 deposit accounts were opened under the Family Capital program, and almost 86,000 families decided to use these funds early.

She also spoke about expanding labor guarantees for working parents.
Thus, it became possible to work remotely, paternity leave was introduced, and a number of guarantees that were previously provided only to mothers were expanded.
For example, fathers raising minor children with disabilities can now choose when to take their vacation in the summer.
From January 1 of this year, parents with many children and parents raising a disabled child can choose how to use their additional time off from work: instead of a day off per week, they can choose to reduce their work by an hour (while maintaining their earnings).
