What is the penalty for speeding?
The capital's traffic police reminded that speeding is one of the main causes of road accidents.
For exceeding the speed limit by 10 to 20 km/h, a fine of up to 1 BV (up to 40 rubles) is imposed.
Exceeding the speed limit by 20 to 30 km/h entails a fine of 1 to 3 BV (40 to 120 roubles), from 30 to 40 km/h – 3 to 10 BV (120 to 400 roubles), by 40 km/h or more – 8 to 12 BV (320 to 480 roubles).
For a repeated violation within a year, a fine of 5 to 15 BV (200 to 600 rubles) is provided, with or without deprivation of rights for up to a year.
