It recently became known how many liters of alcohol residents of Belarus consume annually.
The corresponding data were obtained based on the results of the count for the previous year.
It also became clear which alcoholic drinks Belarusians most often prefer to consume, and which region in the republic is the most “drinking”.
The National Statistical Committee reported all this, making the relevant information publicly available.
According to this information, in 2023 the total volume of alcohol consumed was 11.5 liters per capita (citizens aged 15 and older).
Please note: both registered and unregistered alcohol were taken into account in absolute terms.
Among the regions of the country, the Mogilev region turned out to be the heaviest drinker – 12.5 liters per year.
The TOP-3 also included Vitebsk (12.2 liters), Grodno and Minsk regions (11.5 liters each).
They were followed by Brest (11.3 l) and Gomel (11 l) regions.
The least drinking region of Belarus in 2023 was the capital - the figure for Minsk was 10.8 liters.
According to Belstat, Belarusians drank beer most often last year – 49.7 liters of this drink per capita.
In second place are vodka and liquor products – 12.1 liters.
The third position is for grape and fruit wines – exactly 11 liters.
