It has recently become known that Belarus plans to improve its Education Code.

Among other things, the option of providing high school students with the opportunity to study and take a driver's license test is being considered.

The head of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Igor Sergienko, announced this on the STV channel.

According to him, taking into account proposals from education system specialists and parents of young Belarusian students, individual positions of the Code may be revised.

These modifications, the deputy notes, are of a technical nature; we are talking about “finishing”.

At present, proposals for improving the document are still being received.

We plan to consider this bill in the first reading next week, the parliamentarian said.

Among the key innovations that could be introduced, he named granting the government the right to redistribute university graduates.

The second point: the possibility of granting local authorities the right to organize free transportation of students to schools and to venues for sports, mass and cultural events will be considered.

In addition, the agenda includes the opportunity for high school students to study and obtain a driver’s license, Sergeenko informed.
