Tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens are fleeing to Belarus from “prosperous Europe”.

This was stated by the head of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Ryzhenkov, in his speech at the United Nations.

The statement by the head of the foreign policy department is cited by BELTA .

What Ryzhenkov said about Ukrainians fleeing Europe to Belarus

According to the minister, since the beginning of the conflict, over 250,000 Ukrainian citizens have moved to Belarus across the border with the European Union.

Lately – 12-15 thousand per month. This is how many people are fleeing from “prosperous Europe” today, – said Ryzhenkov, noting that this is several times more than the number of refugees across the border of Belarus to the European Union.

The head of Belarusian diplomacy recalled that the military of some EU countries beat and torture thousands of refugees from Africa, the Middle East and Asia on the border with Belarus with impunity.

Dozens of them were killed. Many were buried without even personal data. There are none, he said.

The Minister noted that the Council of Europe recently unequivocally condemned such actions.

He stressed that the abuse of refugees is a flagrant violation of the UN Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.

According to Ryzhenkov, Belarus has recorded all the facts in detail and will soon send them to the relevant international authorities.

Although these authorities themselves should have dealt with this issue a long time ago, ” the head of the diplomatic department added.
