Cyclists, like other road users, must comply with traffic rules.
Otherwise, their wallets may lose a lot of weight – up to 120 rubles. The money will go towards the fine.
The Minsk State Traffic Inspectorate explained in its official Telegram channel why cyclists in Belarus are subject to such administrative liability.
The agency drew attention to traffic light signals with bicycle silhouettes and white signs with a black bicycle silhouette (the latter are placed under the traffic light).
It is said that the effect of the signals of such a traffic light applies only to cyclists.
The meanings of traffic light signals for them are similar to the meanings of round signals intended for vehicles, the State Traffic Inspectorate noted.
This means that if a cyclist violates the requirements of such traffic light signals, he may be subject to administrative liability.
Accordingly, such a development of events is fraught with a fine for the cyclist in the amount of 1 to 3 basic units (from 40 to 120 rubles), the State Traffic Inspectorate indicated.
