Belarus sets new quotas for alcohol production

Belarus has set new quotas for the production of alcoholic and other alcohol-containing products this year.

The decision was confirmed by the decree of the government of the republic dated September 13, number 677.

The document was officially published on the country's legal internet portal. It stipulates the introduction of new production quotas:

- alcoholic beverages;
- non-food ethyl alcohol;
- disinfectants;
- medicinal antiseptics and veterinary products related to non-food alcohol-containing products.

The quotas apply to products intended for sale on the territory of Belarus.

The following volumes of alcohol production have been established:

– fruit and berry wines – 5,406.7 thousand decaliters;
– fruit fortified vintage wines – 2,422.3 thousand decalitres;
– Soviet champagne and other sparkling wines – 2,118 thousand decaliters;
– grape wines – 4,011 thousand decalitres;
– cognac – 947,000 decaliters;
– brandy – 208,000 decaliters;
– whiskey – 352,000 decalitres.

As for medicinal antiseptics (non-food alcohol-containing products), the production volume is 242,000 decaliters.

Let us add that the Council of Ministers’ resolution came into force immediately after it was officially published.
