On September 14, heavy rains fell in Brest, which led to flooding of some streets in the regional center.
Rescuers had to go out on calls several times - in flooded areas they had to pump water out of basements.
BELTA reports on the consequences of the natural disaster that raged in Brest, citing the Brest Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
As stated in the report, heavy rainfall caused flooding of some streets.
There were also several calls about the need to pump water out of basements.
Help was needed to cut down a fallen tree.
Heavy rain in Brest
The rain started in the afternoon and did not stop for several hours.
Residents on Skripnikova Street, Luchinsky Street and Kosmonavtov Boulevard needed help.
In each case, emergency workers pumped out the water.
Flooding was also observed on Gogol, Krasnogvardeyskaya, Pushkinskaya, Sikorsky, and Yanka Kupala streets.
The housing and utilities department says that the flooding was caused by leaves that clogged storm drains.
To clean them, workers went out even between 10 am and 12 pm.
It was also specified that on Oktyabrskaya Street a tree fell on a car.
