Due to the tense situation at the southern borders of Belarus, special units of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and OMON were deployed in the border area.
This information was announced by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov on September 11 during a briefing before the start of practical exercises at the Stolin-2024 exercises.

As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Telegram channel, the briefing was attended by the governors of Brest and Gomel regions Petr Parkhomchik and Ivan Krupko, the commander of the internal troops and deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nikolai Karpenkov, heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs units, heads of regional police departments and the capital's Main Internal Affairs Directorate, their deputies, chairmen of district executive committees of border regions, and heads of district departments.
Opening the briefing, Kubrakov noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs analyzed the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
According to the minister, due to the tense situation at the southern borders, special forces of the internal troops and riot police have been deployed in the border area.
Their main goal is to prevent the enemy from entering populated areas and to ensure the safety of citizens.
Operational interaction has been organized with governors and heads of district executive committees, commanders of combat units, and border troops.
The measures taken make it possible to control the situation and prevent sabotage and reconnaissance groups from entering the country.
The participants of the briefing examined the exhibition of weapons and equipment, listened to reports on the forces and means involved in the exercises. The action plan and tasks facing the units were also announced.
