The Leninsky District Court of Minsk has sentenced former Deputy Minister of Energy Mikhail Mikhadyuk.
He was sentenced to 6 years in a maximum security penal colony.
What was Mikhadyuk charged with?
According to BELTA , under Part 3 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code, Mikhadyuk was sentenced to 6 years in a maximum security penal colony and a fine of 1,000 BV (40,000 roubles).
The defendant is also deprived of the right to hold positions related to the performance of administrative, economic and organizational duties for 5 years.
Due to the amnesty, Mikhadyuk was partially released from a sentence of one year in prison. The sentence can be appealed and contested.
According to the indictment, Mikhadyuk accepted a bribe of 35,000 euros from a representative of the RIKO company.
In court, the former deputy minister admitted his guilt in full. He reimbursed the criminally obtained income and transferred 5,000 rubles to the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Children's Oncology, Hematology and Immunology.
