How Grossi assesses the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP
Today, the head of the IAEA made a working visit to the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
The agency also released a new report today on its efforts to maintain nuclear security amid the conflict in Ukraine.
Grossi, in the preface to the report, stated that the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP remains unstable and very fragile, the agency’s website reports.
Located on the left bank of the Dnieper near Energodar, Zaporizhzhya NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of power units and installed capacity: the station has 6 units with a capacity of 1 GW each.
In October 2022, Zaporizhzhya NPP came under Russian control. At the moment, all Zaporizhzhya NPP units are in the "cold shutdown" mode.
