The authorities of Kyrgyzstan have decided to adjust the rules of stay in the country for foreigners, including Belarusians.

The innovations will come into effect on September 5 (Thursday) of this year.

This was reported by the Belta agency with reference to the Ministry of Digital Development of the Central Asian state.

More than 60 days

The decision was made by the government of the republic and is contained in its resolution of July 31, 2024.

The changes affect citizens of Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Tajikistan.

In particular, the procedure for the stay of citizens from the named countries in Kyrgyzstan for a period of more than 60 days “for private purposes” has been updated.

Previously, registration of these citizens was carried out for 6 months with the right to further extension (depending on the purpose of stay).

Now these procedures for citizens of countries with a visa-free regime for staying in Kyrgyzstan for a long time will be possible on the basis of:

- residence permit;
– certificates of stateless persons;
– “Kairylman” certificate;
- "Meken-card" certificates.

Citizens of the EAEU and other countries

Citizens of the EAEU countries may stay in Kyrgyzstan for a total of up to 90 days within each 180-day period from the moment of entry into the republic without obtaining documents.

Citizens of Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Moldova can now stay in Kyrgyzstan for up to 60 days in total within each 120-day period from the moment of entry into the country without obtaining documents.

After 60 or 90 days of stay in Kyrgyzstan, those foreigners who have not registered will have to leave the country.

They will only be able to re-enter after 60 or 90 days.

It is worth noting that the same resolution provides for the possibility of obtaining a residence permit for 1 year with an annual renewal (no more than 5 years in a row) for those who are in Kyrgyzstan “for private purposes”.
