Katya Lel does not intend to tolerate insults from anyone: the singer filed a complaint with the court. The defendant is TV presenter Otar Kushanashvili. It was he who spoke unflatteringly about the performer.
The singer demands that the journalist pay her compensation in the amount of 6.5 million rubles for moral damages.
Let us recall that almost a year ago, in December 2023, Kushanashvili criticized the growing popularity of Katya's song "My Marmalade". He shared his opinion with an audience of thousands in one of the episodes of his show.
He said on camera that Lel had “gone crazy” and “gone mad,” and attributed the success of her song to chance.
These statements outraged Katya Lel, and in March she decided to file a lawsuit.
Even the fact that a couple of months later, in June, Kushanashvili was diagnosed with cancer, did not stop the star.
Lel is determined to get from Otar a sum equal to almost 6.5 million rubles, Passion.ru reports. The main part of the money, namely 6 million, is intended to compensate for the moral damage that was inflicted on Katya, while the remainder of 477 thousand will go to cover legal costs.
The conflict between Lel and Kushanashvili flared up because the singer talks incessantly about her connection with space: in particular, she has repeatedly claimed that she has seen aliens, while the TV presenter believes that Katya cannot have anything in common with aliens, and ridicules her for such statements.
