The world's largest collection of Barbie dolls numbers 15,000 pieces.
Its owner is a German woman, Bettina Dorfmann, who lives in Dusseldorf and was included in the Guinness Book of Records in 2013.
Bettina began collecting dolls in 1993, but the woman herself admits that her passion began in her childhood.
At first, the woman kept the dolls because she wanted to pass them on to her children.
But later, Dorfmann noticed that her daughter Melissa was more interested in the new dolls than her collection.
Her collection includes Barbies from different eras and generations: here you can see both the first dolls released in the 1960s and the latest from Mattel.
The record holder looks for dolls for her collection not only in stores, but also from her friends and acquaintances.
If you think that accommodating small dolls is not a problem, let me dissuade you: in the office on the second floor of her house, converted into a museum, Bettina was able to fit only 1,500 dolls.
The rest “live” in other rooms and the basement, and part of the collection is constantly on the move – it appears at various specialized exhibitions, where it delights Barbie fans.
