In 2023, a dog named Bobby was officially recognized as the record holder for longest life among dogs.
A representative of the Rafeiro do Alentejo breed (also known as the Portuguese Mastiff) lived to be over 30 years old.
What is known about Bobby the dog
The dog was born in the summer of 1992 in the Portuguese city of Leiria.
The puppy miraculously survived: the little mastiff could have been killed along with his brothers, but this did not happen.
As a result, Bobby became a long-lived person.
In 2023, the Guinness Book of Records recognized the dog as the oldest dog on the planet.
By the way, that same year Bobby "celebrated" his 31st birthday. About 100 people attended the celebration. The event included a performance by artists.
Unfortunately, the dog did not live to be 32 years old. Bobby died on October 21, 2023.
