Danced with 319 glasses on his head and got into the Guinness Book of Records: Age did not stop a man from Cyprus from setting a record

62-year-old Aristotelis Valaoritis from Kithrai has proven that age is no barrier to extraordinary achievements.

His name is now inscribed in the history of the Guinness Book of Records thanks to his phenomenal stunt: while dancing, he balanced 319 crystal glasses on his head, beating the previous world record by 49 units.

By day, Valaoritis works as a security expert, and since 1995, he has been turning his evenings into a magic show.

Under the pseudonym "Glass Dancer", he entertains guests at restaurants and events, combining body plasticity with jewelry precision.

"Each number is a dialogue between me and the audience. Their beating hearts, sighs of surprise - that's what charges me with energy," the artist admits.

The attempt to conquer the Guinness Book of Records was a logical step in Aristotelis’ 28-year journey.

In 2022, his compatriot Ntinos Kkanthi set the bar at 270 glasses, but Valaoritis didn't stop there.

During his official attempt, he not only held 319 vessels for 20 seconds instead of the required 10, but also performed his signature dance, proving that his skill is a synthesis of artistry and physical control.

“The main thing is to find an internal rhythm and mentally become part of the structure you are creating,” the record holder shares.

Despite his age, he has no plans to stop.

The artist is already preparing new numbers.

“Falls are inevitable, but it’s important to get up and move on,” he notes philosophically.
