In 2022, Bette Nash made it into the Guinness Book of Records, where she was awarded the title of the oldest flight attendant in the world.
Her work experience spanned almost seven decades, or to be more precise, 67 years.
The woman dreamed of becoming a flight attendant ever since she first boarded a plane.
This happened when Bette was only 16 years old.
She persistently pursued her goal and in 1957, at the age of 21, she got a job as a flight attendant at Eastern Airlines (the company was later renamed American Airlines).
Nash mostly flew between Washington, where she lived, and Boston.
She liked this route because she could go home every night and take care of her son.
Bette died on May 17, 2024 in hospice from breast cancer.
She never officially left her position at American Airlines.
