Luc Driesen from Belgium holds the record for continuous frying of "frits".
We are talking about a side dish known as "French fries" or "French potatoes".
The man lives in the Flemish town of Malle and owns a mobile food truck called a "fritri".
His record is that he fried potatoes for 5 days, 6 hours and 15 minutes.
Of course, it is impossible to stand on your feet for all this time while doing any activity, so the record holder was allowed to take an hour break after 6 hours of work.
His condition was monitored by two doctors at once.
Why did Luke choose this particular dish?
The reason is probably that he, as a true Belgian, believes that this side dish was invented in Belgium.
According to legend, it was first served in Flanders (Belgium) back in the 16th century.
During World War I, French fries were introduced to Belgium by British soldiers.
Since then, it has become known as "French fries".
The classic recipe calls for the frites to be no more than 10 cm long. The potato slices are dipped in boiling oil to cook the inside, then left to rest for a few minutes, and then dipped in oil again to create a crust.
