Best friends living in Australia managed not only to set a world record, but also to save an impressive amount of money.
Their secret is that for 61 years they have been sending each other the same birthday card.
According to the Guinness Book of Records website, 84-year-old Jeanette Graham and 80-year-old Lynley Lambert met in 1960.
The Lynley family then moved into the house next door to Jeanette's.
Three years later, in March '63, Lambert decided to give her friend a birthday card.
The printed greeting inside says that the name of the birthday boy or girl should be written in pencil. When the time comes for the giver to celebrate his or her birthday, the name should be erased and a new one written. This should be done for many years, passing the card from hand to hand.
So in December, when Lynley celebrated her birthday, Jeanette had already sent a card to her friend.
Even though the friends still live just 30 minutes away from each other in Perth, they continue to send each other this postcard.
They plan to continue doing this, with only one concern: the women are worried that the greeting card might get lost in the mail.
