In 2008, Marko Balo from Slovenia set an unusual record.
He rode his bike non-stop for 24 hours.
All this time the man never touched the floor with his feet.
Of course, during the trip the Slovenian had no opportunity to eat normally, sleep, or even just rest.
The compilers of the Guinness Book of Records recorded the achievement.
How the "bicycle" record was set
The unusual event started on September 6, 2008 and ended exactly one day later.
All this time, Marco Balo rode his bicycle, completely refusing even short breaks.
In 24 hours, the Slovenian traveled 890.2 kilometers. Thus, the average speed was 37 kilometers per hour.
The achievement is mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records with a description roughly as follows: "The greatest distance a person has ridden on a bicycle without ever touching the floor with his feet."
Almost 16 years have passed since then. During this time, no cyclist has managed to beat or even repeat Marco Balo's record.
