In 2015, it became known that a record-holder in the world of cows had died – an animal named Blossom (translated from English as flower) died at the age of 13.
The cause was an incurable injury to the giant cow's leg.
But what is much more remarkable is not the death, but the life of the animal - her name was entered into the Guinness Book of Records due to her height: Blossom reached 1.93 meters in height.
The cow was born and raised on the Orangeville farm in Illinois, USA, and belonged to the Holstein breed.
When she was still a calf, Blossom was already the size of a full-grown cow.
Undoubtedly, such “volumes” somewhat worried her owners, who acquired the animal at the age of eight months.
However, the cow was always surrounded by human attention, which she really enjoyed, recalls the animal's owner, Patti Meads-Hanson.
Let us recall that the height of the previous “record holder” was 1.88 meters and was set in 1906-1910 by a Holstein-Friesian cow.
