The ice cream cake, which was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for its size, was so huge that it had to be weighed on scales normally used to weigh commercial aircraft.
The figure displayed on the device can only be described as impressive: the scales showed 10.13 tons.
The giant ice cream cake was created by Dairy Queen Canada.
It was in May 2011 that the ice cream cake first appeared in Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Its length was 4.45 m, width – 4.06 m, and height – 1 m.
The treat was made from sponge cake, vanilla ice cream and cream icing. The topping was made from Oreo cookies.
To be included in the Book of Records, the cake had to remain intact and not melt until it was weighed, measured and served.
And, of course, the cake had to beat the previous record holder, which is what happened – the previous record was set in 2006 by an ice cream cake from Beijing, weighing about 8.74 tons.
Earlier we talked about the tallest man in the world.
