Deserts are very dangerous places, but even such places have their own charm and magic.
Many people, animals and plants were even able to somehow adapt to life in such difficult conditions.
However, sometimes the areas of such geographical objects simply boggle the imagination.
Which desert is the largest according to the Guinness Book of Records?
As many have already guessed, we are talking about the famous Sahara Desert. This is true if we are talking about classic hot deserts.
But in terms of area, Antarctica is considered the largest.
Its parameters are slightly less than 14 million square kilometers. The Sahara Desert has more modest parameters: the area is slightly more than 9 million square kilometers.
Survival in the Antarctic desert is virtually impossible. It is here that world records for subzero temperatures are recorded. Once, the readings were 98 degrees below zero.
Compared to it, the Sahara even seems comfortable: the temperature in summer reaches a maximum of 37 degrees. But in winter the temperature is about 13 degrees.
