The title of the fastest reader belongs to Kiev resident Evgeniya Alekseenko.
She set her record back in 1989. On September 9, Evgenia visited the Brain Research Center, where they prepared a special test for her.
The testing materials were selected in such a way that they were completely unfamiliar to Alekseenko.
For example, these were socio-political and literary magazines that were published on the same day.
The girl was asked to read two pages, and she completed the task in one fifth of a second.
So, Eugenia read 1,390 words in the time it takes to blink.
It took a Kiev resident about 30-40 seconds to read the popular magazine of that time, Science and Life, and an average-sized book was read in an average of one minute.
At the same time, Evgeniya Alekseenko did not miss the content of what she read and was able to retell the text and answer questions. As the girl admitted, she had no idea what her secret was.
