The hybrid of African servals and domestic shorthaired cats of the oriental breeds has been considered the most expensive in the world for almost four decades.

The first Savannah kitten was born in 1986. This cat breed is not only the most expensive, but also the largest.

At the age of 3, the Savannah weighs 15 kg and is 60 cm tall at the withers. This is a slender and graceful cat with a regal posture, large ears, long legs and thick spotted fur.

Savannahs are strong, powerful and agile. Some of them can jump 2.5 m from a standing start. They love to climb on cabinets, refrigerators and watch what is happening from above.

One of the breeds that is not afraid of water and is happy to take a shower or bath. Savannahs are quick learners and are curious.

The breed is divided into five types – from F1 to F5. The lower the number, the more the cat has inherited from its wild relative, the serval (bush cat).

Thus, the F1 hybrid (50% of the African predator) is the rarest and largest. These features provide a rather large price tag for one specimen - from $25 thousand.

In 2007, another exclusive breed called Ashera was allegedly bred. The name was coined in honor of the Phoenician goddess of fertility. But it turned out to be the same Savannah.
