Six sisters from the American state of Missouri have vowed to have their names appear in the pages of the Guinness Book of Records.
The thing is that their total age is 571 years and 293 days.
These certainly impressive figures make the women the oldest sisters in the world.
The age of American women ranges from 88 to 101 years.
The eldest of them, Norma, currently lives in Ohio, while the others - Lauren, Maxine, Doris, Margaret and Elma - never left their native Missouri.
Their lives, Elma said, are filled with memories of significant events such as the Great Depression, World War II and the recent pandemic.
According to her, despite all the quarrels they experienced, they “never got angry” at each other.
The sisters travel together and periodically wear T-shirts with their "sequence number" printed on them.
Every July, when all three sisters have birthdays, they go on a picnic together - this tradition started a long time ago thanks to their mother, and since then they have gladly taken advantage of the opportunity to get together as a family, share the events that have happened in their lives and celebrate such a significant event as the birth of their relatives.
The women also remember another member of their large family – their older brother, Sister Stanley, who would have turned 103 this year.
Unfortunately, his life was tragically cut short at the age of 81 when he died in a cycling accident.
"If it weren't for this accident, we think he would be alive today," says Dean Jacob, Norma's son.
