A sweater can probably be found in any wardrobe, regardless of the gender and age of the person it belongs to.
And this is not surprising - this item of clothing can be called a real salvation in cold weather, when you want to wrap yourself in something warm so as not to freeze.
An association of Turkish entrepreneurs specializing in the textile industry have implemented a unique project by producing the world's largest sweater.
They did this in order to draw public attention to the need to save thermal energy.
Experts have calculated that Türkiye could save significant amounts (around $2 billion) on energy if its residents started wearing sweaters at home and at work.
To create this masterpiece, a team of 45 people was involved. They all worked for a month.
Together they managed to create a sweater that was 45 meters long and 18 meters wide.
To do this they used almost 10 thousand meters of yarn weighing 500 kg.
To ensure that as many people as possible could see the sweater, it was hung using a crane on the facade of the Bayrampaşa City Hall in Istanbul.
The ceremony was attended by Turkish officials, including the president's top adviser. The district mayor received an exact replica of the sweater as a gift, but in normal size.
The organizers of this event hope that it will make people think about saving heat.
