The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a new statement about negotiations with Russia.
The head of the OP Andriy Yermak stated that Ukraine is not ready for them.
His statement is quoted by Ukrainian media.
What Yermak said about negotiations with Russia
The head of Zelensky's office said that Ukraine is not yet ready for negotiations.
To start negotiations, Ukraine must be strong, and then it will be able to speak with the Russian Federation on equal terms, Yermak noted.
According to him, Ukraine must receive sufficient weapons and clear guarantees that the conflict will not resume in two or three years.
The day before, the office of the President of Ukraine made a statement that was exactly the opposite.
Yermak's advisor Mykhailo Podolyak stated that Ukraine is ready for negotiations with Russia.
He also called for the talks not to be called "peaceful," explaining that they would be talks about freezing the conflict.
Discussions about negotiations with Russia have become more frequent in Kyiv after Zelensky's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and future White House chief Donald Trump in Paris last Saturday.
Trump has repeatedly stated that after his re-election he will resolve the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible.
Today he condemned the current US administration's decision to strike Russia with Western long-range missiles, calling it stupid and dangerous.
