The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced its readiness for negotiations with Russia.
This statement was made by the adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mykhailo Podolyak.
His words are quoted by Ukrainian media.
What Podolyak said about negotiations with Russia
An adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office said that Kyiv is ready for negotiations with Moscow, but a simple solution should not be expected.
Podolyak also discussed what Ukrainian-Russian negotiations might be like.
It is better not to use the word "peaceful" because these will be negotiations on freezing the conflict. Let's be realistic, he said in response to a question about whether peace talks would begin this winter.
According to Podolyak, if the negotiations are organized on an unclear legal platform, and Russia makes ultimatum proposals, there will be no positive result.
He also said that Western countries should increase pressure on Moscow to ensure Ukraine's interests in the negotiations.
