Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there will be no elections in the country during wartime.
The head of the Ukrainian state made this statement while presenting his plan for resilience to the Verkhovna Rada.
Zelensky's words are quoted by Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel.
What Zelensky said about the elections in Ukraine
The President of Ukraine recalled that the country's legislation does not allow elections to be held during wartime.
The head of the Ukrainian state noted that no one in the world is demanding that Ukraine hold elections.
Ukraine first needs a fair peace, and then Ukrainians will hold fair elections, Zelensky said.
Earlier, the British publication The Economist reported that elections in Ukraine could take place on May 25, 2025.
