Volodymyr Zelensky has publicly stated what he is not prepared to do to return Crimea to Ukraine.
According to the president, he cannot allow “tens of thousands of our people” to die for this purpose.
The head of state made the corresponding statement during an interview with the Fox News channel, reports MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
Speaking to a journalist, Zelensky admitted that his country lacks the strength to retake the peninsula by military means.
We cannot waste tens of thousands of our people dying to get Crimea back. It is not like we can get it back with weapons in our hands, he said.
At the same time, the politician noted that he wants to make Crimea a Ukrainian diplomatic path again.
