Russia will study US proposals if their policies change after the elections.
This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, answering a media question about the American elections.
The diplomat’s response was posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
What Zakharova said about the US elections
Answering the question of whether Moscow would make a significant difference in the victory of one candidate or another, the Russian Foreign Ministry representative stated that Moscow does not care how the US elections end, given that a bipartisan consensus has emerged there regarding confrontation with Russia.
According to Zakharova, if something changes in US policy, proposals will be made to Russia, and Moscow will study them.
The diplomat stressed that Moscow intends to resolutely defend its interests.
Zakharova noted that the American leadership should focus on solving its own problems and not look for adventures tens of thousands of miles from American shores.
In conclusion, the representative of the Russian diplomatic mission wished the people of the United States to overcome the split in society and the crisis of democracy.
