US President-elect Donald Trump has said he wants to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
The Republican informed the general public of this during a speech at a conference in the state of Arizona.
In particular, the politician said that he would look forward to meeting with Putin.
At this event, he hopes to resolve the Ukrainian conflict through a peaceful settlement.
Trump quoted the Russian leader as saying that he has nothing against such a meeting.
President Putin said that he wants to meet me as soon as possible. So we will wait for this, we must put an end to this war, - the influential American is quoted as saying by MIA "Russia Today".
Let us recall that at a recent direct line combined with a press conference, Vladimir Putin announced his readiness to meet with the elected American president.
As the Russian leader noted, if the meeting takes place, the parties will have something to discuss at it.
And Trump, speaking about the “terrible conflict” in Ukraine, once again said that if the United States were led not by Joe Biden, but by him, he would not have allowed this to happen.
Earlier, in June, Vladimir Putin proposed conditions for a peaceful settlement.
One of them was formulated as follows: the Russian Federation will immediately cease fire and declare its readiness for negotiations if, among other things, Kyiv refuses to join NATO.
It should be noted that after the start of the SVO, negotiations between representatives of Russia and Ukraine took place in Belarus and Turkey.
