Alexander Lukashenko called on local authorities not to relax during the presidential elections in Belarus.
He also drew their attention to the fact that they should “assume the worst-case scenario.”
The head of state made this statement at a meeting dedicated to the upcoming presidential elections next year.
According to the press service of the Belarusian leader, he did not rule out the possibility of provocations (informational, political, etc.) during the campaign.
In this regard, Lukashenko called on local authorities not to relax.
We have to assume the worst case scenario. If it gets better, that's fine, he said.
According to him, regional leaders will be constantly informed about the situation in the event of dangerous trends.
The President noted that those who are trying to destabilize the situation in Belarus are already developing plans on how to act.
I drew attention to the fact that the “degree of tension” is mainly formed outside the republic.
They can't figure out what tactics to develop there. I think they'll give them some advice. There are a lot of smart people around there. And they'll give them money for it, the head of state said.
At the same time, he added, those citizens must understand that their time has passed.
And since they understand this, they are “ready for radical actions.”
This means that we must be prepared to take adequate actions in response, Lukashenko said.
He also noted that the presidential elections in Belarus should be held in such a way that not a single mosquito could get its nose under their nose.
