How Trump took credit for the destruction of Nord Stream 2
Commenting on the accusations against him of working for Russia, Trump said that it was he who destroyed Nord Stream 2.
The Republican candidate noted that this gas pipeline was extremely important for Russia.
I destroyed him. No one could do it but me. I stopped him, - said the former American leader.
At the end of December 2019, Trump signed a defense budget that included sanctions against companies involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2.
As a result, the Swiss company Allseas, which was laying the pipes, stopped work.
Construction of the gas pipeline resumed a year later and was completed in September 2021.
