The administration of US President Joseph Biden has approved the use of British long-range Storm Shadow missiles to strike deep into Russia.
This was reported by the British publication The Times, citing sources on Downing Street.
What is known about the US decision on Storm Shadow
The Times reports that the UK government will not make any official statements on Storm Shadow in order not to give Russia an advantage on the battlefield.
It is noted that the head of the British government, Keir Starmer, has changed his position on the use of Storm Shadow for strikes against the Russian Federation: if earlier he spoke with restraint, then after approval from the United States he decided to throw caution to the wind.
At the same time, the British Prime Minister’s allies told the publication that the decision on Storm Shadow will not change the course of the conflict.
Former UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said the use of Storm Shadow against Russia would send a powerful signal.
On November 17, the American publication The New York Times, citing sources, reported that Biden had authorized Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range ATACMS missiles. According to The Times, the decision was made three days before the leak to the media.
