If Ukraine uses Western long-range missiles to strike Russian territory, it will mean direct involvement of the United States and its allies in the conflict.
In this case, the latter will receive an “adequate and tangible response” from Moscow.
This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on media reports that Joe Biden had allowed Kiev to strike Russia with American ATACMS missiles.
In addition, as Western publications wrote, the British and French allegedly also gave their approval for such actions – they allowed them to attack the Russian Federation with STORM SHADOW and SCALP missiles.
"Radical Change"
According to Zakharova, if Ukraine does indeed use the said weapons, among other things, this will mean “a radical change in the essence and nature of the conflict.”
At the same time, she emphasized that it is still unknown “whether these leaks are based on official sources.”
But it is clear that Kyiv’s Western curators, given the latter’s failures, are betting “on maximum escalation of the war against Russia,” the diplomat noted.
She points out that the West wants to “achieve an illusory goal – to inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow.”
Zakharova assured them: “no miracle weapon that Zelensky and his henchmen pray to” will be able to influence the course of the special military operation.
