Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost almost 1 million people.
This information was announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Andrei Belousov on December 16 at the final board meeting of the department.
What Belousov said about the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the combat potential of the Ukrainian army has been undermined.
According to him, this year alone the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 560,000 soldiers killed and wounded, and in total since the beginning of the Second World War – almost 1 million people.
In the Kursk adventure alone, the Kiev regime lost more than 40,000 military personnel, Belousov said.
At the moment, the minister continued, Kyiv controls less than 1% of the territory of the LPR and 25-20% of the DPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
This year, Russian troops have liberated almost 4,500 square kilometers of territory, the head of the department reported.
He also reported that this year the Ukrainian army has lost more than 58,000 units of weapons and equipment.
