Residents of Romania participating in the parliamentary elections this Sunday, December 1, received an official message from the President of Belarus.

But the reason for the message was not this event at all – Alexander Lukashenko congratulated them (on behalf of the Belarusians and himself personally) on the National Day of Romania.

According to the author of the appeal, the holiday personifies the numerous successes of this state in South-Eastern Europe.

It also symbolizes, Lukashenko is convinced, the strength and unity of the Romanian people, whose fate is similar to the fate of the Belarusian people.

Having experienced severe trials and great losses in the 20th century, Belarusians and Romanians treat their own history with care, honor the culture and traditions of their ancestors, and strive to coexist in harmony with their neighbors, the press service of the head of state quotes the message.

He states: diplomatic relations between Minsk and Bucharest have existed for more than three decades.

During this time, both countries have come a long way and achieved significant progress in terms of interaction and friendly dialogue at various levels.

I confirm my interest in developing constructive cooperation and invite you to visit Belarus more often to see for yourself the hospitality and friendliness of its residents, Lukashenko said.

He wished the Romanians happiness, peace and prosperity.
