What Putin Said About Improving Relations With the US
Anything can be done if there is a desire. We have never lost this desire, - the Russian President stated, answering a question about the possibility of normalizing relations with the United States.
He noted that in international relations everything changes except interests, in this case the interests of Russia and its people.
According to Putin, Russia will build relations with the United States and other Western countries only on the basis of its own interests.
Just not to the detriment of Russia’s interests, ” the head of the Russian state emphasized.
Speaking about changes in international relations, he gave examples from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Putin recalled that in the Crimean War of 1853-56, almost all European countries fought against Russia.
However, already during the First World War, the Russian President continued, the same countries were Russia’s allies.
Everything changes, only interests remain unchanged, the Russian leader summed up.
