US President-elect Donald Trump's team has warned Ukraine that it will have to make serious territorial concessions.
This was reported by the American publication Politico, citing a source in the Republican Party.
What the US warned Ukraine about
As a source told Politico, Trump's team warned Ukraine that it would have to make major territorial concessions in exchange for "freedom and independence for 80% of the population."
The publication notes that Trump's re-election as US President has clearly demonstrated the stupidity of the West, which promised to continue the war until Ukraine returned to its 1991 borders.
It is noted that now the European Union and even Kyiv are “secretly feeling relieved” at the prospect of Trump resolving the conflict.
If he succeeds, European leaders and American hawks will have an alibi, and Zelensky will have cover from the likely wrath of Ukrainian soldiers, Politico explains.
The publication notes that Trump does not yet have a detailed settlement plan.
