Russia will take measures to ensure parity in response to the deployment of an American anti-missile defense system in Poland.

This was announced on November 13 by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.

His statement is quoted by TASS .

What Peskov said about Russia's response to the deployment of a missile defense system in Poland

A Kremlin spokesman called the deployment of the missile defense system in Poland an advancement of American military infrastructure in Europe towards the Russian borders and an attempt to contain Russia's military potential.

Of course, this leads to the adoption of appropriate measures to ensure parity, said the press secretary of the head of the Russian state.

Peskov recalled that even during the presidency of George W. Bush, Russian President Vladimir Putin actively conducted negotiations, expressing concern about US plans to create missile defense position areas in Europe.

Russia then insisted that US claims that its plans were aimed at countering the Iranian threat were a lie, a Kremlin spokesman said.

The deployment of a missile defense system in Poland confirms Putin’s rightness, Peskov stated.

Today, the Aegis Ashore land-based missile defense system is officially put into operation in Redzikowo, Poland. It is a US Navy base under NATO and EUCOM command.

The Aegis Ashore facility in Redzikow is part of the phased deployment of missile defence system components in Europe.

The system also includes ships based in Rota, Spain, equipped with Aegis radars, an AN/TPY-2 radar in Turkey and another Aegis Ashore complex in Romania.
